New Vehicle sales by brand were released last week and Perodua’s share of the new vehicle market in May hit 51%. This record is a clear demonstration of the popularity of the brand’s products among Malaysians. Their popularity attracted a ride-hailing and ride-sharing service operator who ordered 1,000 units of the Bezza and Axia for its fleet.

“We are pleased to announce that a ride-hailing and a ride-sharing service provider operating in Malaysia have purchased a combined 1,000 Axias and Bezzas,” said Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd MD, Dato’ Dr. Zahari Husin. He added that this is the first fleet order by such a service provider.

Dato’ Dr. Zahari Husin says that the fleet sale to these service providers was significant to Perodua as it opens up yet another market for the compact carmaker.

“The proliferation of ride-hailing and ride-sharing services in Malaysia has revolutionised the way we get around, and Perodua is proud to be a part of this revolution towards more efficient and sustainable transport for all. We thank them for their support,” he added.

Over 300,000 Axias and 100,000 Bezzas have been sold since their launches in 2014 and 2016, respectively. Both models have affordable prices due to being Energy-Efficient Vehicles (EEV) and therefore qualifying for government incentives which passed on in full to customers. Both models have been leaders in their respective vehicle segments since their inception.
